Questions about the Product Support
 Q1: Do I need to pay to use Eee Storage?
Ans: You get free and full access to Eee Storage Services through easy activation process as long as you purchase new version of Eee Family. Eee Storage provides an amazing 20 gigabyte online free space which allows you to share files with your friends. Another great feature about Eee Family is its excellent AES file encryption that protects your files and gives you a totally secured storage environment. Our Download Center offers free resources, including music, wallpapers, movie trailers, games and more. You definitely will find something new from time to time.
 Q2: I clicked "Eee Storage" in the explorer of Eee Family, but it didn’t work.
Ans: Eee Storage is an online storage space, so you must connect to the Internet before using it. Please make sure your connection works properly. If you find any problem with your network connection, please contact your Internet service provider.
 Q3: Do I have to connect to the Internet to use Eee Storage?
Ans: Yes, Eee Storage is an online storage space, so you must connect to the Internet before using its services.
 Q4: Can I access files stored on Eee Storage from another computer?
Ans: You can access the files stored on Eee Storage by logging into Eee Storage with your own account on any Eee Family with Eee Storage pre-installed. For PC users, please visit Eee Storage website, download the Eee Storage client for PC, and log into Eee Storage.
 Q5: How can I recommend Eee Storage to my friends?
Eee Storage currently is pre-installed to selected Eee Family models. You can check Asus announcements for these models. As long as your Eee Family comes with Eee Storage built in, you can enjoy Eee Storage services. For users of other Eee Family models, we are planning to expand Eee Storage services to these models. For non-Eee Family users, trial service will come soon
 Q6: What is the download/upload speed of Eee Storage?
Ans: If you are using ADSL 2M/512K, it takes about 30 seconds to download a 1MB file and 64 seconds to upload a 1MB file. (Note: the speed may differ, depending on your connection.)
 Q7: Is there a limit to the size of the files I can upload/download on Eee Storage?
Ans: Upload: Up to 200MB per file Download: 5000MB per day
 Q8:How can i modify my account information?
Ans: You can log into Eee Storage home page(www.eeestorage.com) and click the "Membership" on the upper-right corner. Select "Account Information" to modify your personal info including the revision of passwords, e-mail address ect. But the function about ID change not be provided at present.
 Q9:Can I use Eee Storage behind a firewall or over a Proxy server?
Ans: Eee Storage can only go through the standard http port 80, and can not be used with a firewall or Proxy server. If you need to use Eee Storage under such environments, please contact your network administrator and change corresponding settings.
 Q10:During installation a message appears saying that .NET Framework is required.
Ans: Eee Storage requires .NET Framework 1.1 to install and run. Please download .NET Framework 1.1 before installing Eee Storage at

 Q11:Can I use FTP to access Eee Storage?
Ans: Currently Eee Storage does not support FTP access.
 
Questions about Service Activation
 Q1: How do I start Eee Storage?
Ans: For Linux version, click the tool bar on the upper side of Eee Family screen, and double click on the "Explorer" icon. You can find the Eee Storage icon in "My Eee Family" on the left, and it works just like a hard drive in your computer.

For Windows version, double-click "My Computer", locate the Eee Storage icon in the Explorer. Eee Storage works as a hard drive in your computer.

 Q2: How do I get full membership and gain full access to all the functions of Eee Storage?
Ans: Currently Eee Storage services are provided free of charge. However Eee Storage remains the right to change product functionalities and the right to charge on the product. If you have an activation code: As long as your Eee Family comes with Eee Storage built in, you can enjoy Eee Storage services. Simply click on "Activate", key in the activation code, complete the registration info, and you have access to the full version of Eee Storage. Full Eee Storage access allows you to utilize 20GB of online storage space and other exclusive features for our members.

If you don’t have an activation code: You will be provided with an Automated Account on the first launch of Eee Storage. You can start using Eee Storage services directly, but you will not have access to the full functions to our services (for example, sharing and encryption.) If you already have an Automated Account and want to access sharing or encryption functions, you will be prompted to set up personal account and password to obtain a Full Account. Just fill in some your personal information to enjoy all the functions of Eee Storage.

 Q3: Where can I find the activation code?
Ans: You can find the Eee Storage account activation code on the "User Manual " from the package of your Eee Family.

 Q4: How can I retrieve my password?
Ans: Click the "Retrieve My Password" link on Eee Storage product page (www.Eee Storage.net), and enter your account. Then enter the verification code as shown on the provided image, click "Send Password" button and our system will send your account information to your email address.
 Q5: What if I forget my account?
Ans: Click the "Retrieve My Password" link on Eee Storage product page (www.Eee Storage.net), enter the email address you registered, then enter the verification code as shown on the provided image. Click "Send Account" button and our system will send your account information to your email address.
 Q6: How to install Eee Storage on another computer?
You can visit www.eeestorage.com and click the "Services for Members" on the upper-right corner. Select "Software Download" to download the Eee Storage installer. You can install Eee Storage to other computers with the installer. After the installation, just log in with your account and you can start using Eee Storage services.
 Q7: There are 2 Eee Storage account types.
1. Automated Account: System will set up a default account for you on the first launch of Eee Storage. You can use Eee Storage as an ordinary storage space, but you can not enjoy the full functions of Eee Storage like sharing and encryption.

2. Full Account: You can enjoy the full functions of Eee Storage through simple application.

 Q8: How to upgrade my free account to Full account?
If you already have an Automated Account and want to access sharing or encryption functions, you will be prompted to set up personal account and password. Just fill in some your personal information and you can upgrade to a Full account for free.
 Q9: What are the benefits of upgrading to Full account?
Ans:After upgrading to Full account, not only can you have a personal account and password, but you can enjoy the full functions of Eee Storage.
 Q10: How can I activate the service of Eee Storage?

You can visit http://www.eeestorage.com/member/active/ to activate the service of Eee Storage by the activation code (the O and I are capital letter) and apply the personal ID/PW, so that you will enjoy the full benefits of membership by simply completing the registration process.

Eee Storage is pre-installed to Eee Family 701SD/701SDX/900/900A/900HA/901/904HD/904HA/1000/1000H。 You are the Automated Account user and system will set up a default account for you on the first launch of Eee Storage. You can use Eee Storage as an ordinary storage space, but you can not enjoy the full functions of Eee Storage like sharing.

If you already have an Automated Account and want to upgrade to the full functions, when you click the "Friend List" or "Web Storage/Eee Internet Storage" folder, then you will be prompted to set up personal account and password. Just fill in some your personal information and you can upgrade to a Full account for free.

After upgrading to Full account, not only can you have a personal account and password, but you can enjoy the full functions of Eee Storage.

My Eee Family model is 900/1000H: You will have the 20G/10G Eee Storage service .Please provide us of your Eee Family model and S/N by email:contact@eeestorage.com(please note that Eee Storage does not pre-installed in your Eee Family), we will reply the activation code to you.

My Eee Family model is 701 or other non 900/1000H model: Eee Storage currently is pre-installed to selected Eee Family models. For users of other Eee Family models, we are planning to expand Eee Storage services to these models. For non-Eee Family users, trial service will come soon.

 
Questions about Eee Internet Storage
 Q1: What is the size of Eee Storage storage space?
Ans: Eee Storage offers an extra large 10/20GB online storage space for you.
 Q2: Can you explain how 20GB really is like? Can you describe in substantial terms?

Ans:

Up to 5,000 MP3s

Up to 5,500 10-mega-pixel photos

Up to 6,000 minutes of movies

 Q3: Can I resume my download on Eee Storage?
Ans: Eee Storage supports resume download/upload. It allows you to continue your download/upload which is interrupted by disconnection.

However, Eee Storage does not support resume download/upload if you logout Eee Storage or power off your computer during the download/upload session. Resuming download/upload consumes a great deal of temporary disk space; we do not support resume download/upload in these occasions for now.

 Q4: Can I check my used/free space? Where should I find this info?
Ans: Log into Eee Storage and click the "Configuration" on the screen. This will give you the current status of used/free space.
 Q5: How to create a new folder in Eee Storage?
Ans: You can do it just like you would in Explorer. Simply right-click on the place where you want to create a new folder, and select "New Folder".
 Q6: How to upload/download files to/from my storage space?
Ans: You can drag/drop files directly as you would in the Explorer. You can also copy and paste files by right-clicking to upload/download.
 
Questions about Group Share
 Q1: How do I share files with my friends and families?
Ans: How do I share my file? For Windows: You can share any folder on your "Eee Web Storage". Right click on the folder you want to share with family or friends and select "Configure Group Share". Check the people you want to share with and click "OK". The selected users will see your shared folders in their Eee Storage.

For Linux:
(1) For users whose Eee Storage client version is prior to 1.2.x: Enter the "Group Sharing Center" folder. Double click the folder you want to share and click the "Share this folder.sh" icon. Check the friends you want to share with and click "OK". Your friends will your shared folders in their Eee Storage.

(2) For users whose Eee Storage client version is later than 1.2.x: You can share any folder on your "Eee Web Storage". Double click on the folder you want to share with family or friends and click "Share this folder.sh" icon. Check the friends you want to share with and click "OK". Your friends will see your shared folder in their Eee Storage.

Quick Share:
You can generate a URL to your files with the "Quick Share Files.html" link in the "Eee Web Storage" folder and quickly share your files with friends all over the world. You will enter "Quick Sharing Settings" page after clicking the "Quick Share Files.html" link. Select the file(s) you want to share and click "Share file(s)." Now the "Share file(s)" button will show "Cancel Sharing," and the URL to your file(s) will be displayed. You can click "Email to friends" and the URL to the files you want to share will be sent to your friends via E-mail. Your friends then will be able to access your file(s) by visiting this link. Click "Download" and they can download the file(s) you share.

 Q2: How to add friends?
If your friends have Eee Storage accounts: 
a. Go to www.eeestorage.com and log in. Click the "Services for Members" on the upper-right corner. 
b. Click on Friend List. 
c. Select the field for Eee Storage account and Enter your friends’ accounts. Click "Submit". 
d. After his or her acceptance of your invitation in the same interface, you have then successfully add a new friend to your Friend List. 
 
If your friends don’t have Eee Storage accounts: 
a. Go to www.eeestorage.com and log in. Click the "Services for Members" on the upper-right corner. 
b. Click on Friend List. 
c. Click on the field for E-mail address and enter the E-mail addresses of your friends. 
d. Your friends will receive invitations from you and will be able to apply for free accounts via the link in the mail. You friends will then have 1GB of Eee Storage online storage space. 
e. After his or her acceptance of your invitation in the same interface, you have then successfully add a new friend to your Friend List.
 Q3: How do I stop file sharing?
Ans: For Windows: Go to the "Eee Web Storage" folder in Eee Storage. Right-click on the folder you want to stop sharing, and select "Stop Group Share". For Linux:
(1) For users whose Eee Storage client version is prior to 1.2.x: Enter the "Group Sharing Center" folder in Eee Storage and delete the folder you want to stop sharing. (For now you can only stop sharing by deleting folders.)

(2) For users whose Eee Storage client version is later than 1.2.x: Enter the "Eee Web Storage" folder and delete the folder you want to stop sharing. (For now you can only stop sharing by deleting folders.)

How to cancel sharing in Quick Share:
Enter the "Eee Web Storage" folder. Click the "Quick Share Files.html" link and you will go to the "Quick Sharing Settings" page. Select the files you want to stop sharing and click "Cancel Sharing". A window appears prompting you the link to the files will be inaccessible, and the files will be able to be downloaded. Click "OK" and the URL will be emptied, and the sharing will be cancelled.

 Q4: For a single folder, how many people can I share it with?
Ans: Currently by default, you can share a folder with up to 5 people at the same time.
 
 
Questions about Eee Public Service Area
 Q1: Do I need to pay for the files in Download Center?
Ans: Files in Download Center are provided on a free-of-charge basis. You can download all the files in Download Center for free.
 Q2: Will files in Download Center consume my online storage space?
Ans: No! All files in Download Center do not consume the capacity of your online storage space.
 Q3: How to download files from Download Center?
Ans: You can simply drag/drop or copy files to any location of your local hard drive.
 Q4: Why can’t I store files to Download Center folder?
Ans: Download Center folder is for free resources that Eee Storage provide to our customers. You can not save files to this folder.
